The one and only problem right now is not fossil fuels but fossil people. Their minds are in the stone age concerning what government can and should do. They are looking out for wealthy people in the various private industries who donate to them who would be less richer each year in money (but definitely healthier in general due to the whole of society and the environment getting much, much better) were the Green New Deal to become law, which it must if the USA is ever to be great.
What's lost in all of the "debate" (naysaying) is that the Green New Deal is holistic. It's an entire package designed to make all of its parts work better together (synergy is the term), which is actually good government, good legislation.
I was opposed to Nancy Pelosi resuming the position of House Speaker for exactly the reason that I knew she'd do her utmost to stand in the way of real sweeping progress that is so long overdue. She's hardly even an incrementalist. I said before she was elected by the House that she isn't up to the job. It's obvious I was right. Her time has passed. She should be replaced as Speaker ASAP.
